    I cleaned up the blackened, tarnished brass bolt on the 760 Revelation today. Real quick with a Dremel and a SS wire wheel. And I finally cleaned the bore on the Winchester 1250WS .177UM. Filthiest barrel ever so far! It took some 24 patches to get it mostly clean. Lots of dirt and rust in the rifling. I tried one of the Daisy sampler Pellets that…[Read more]

    This is that moment when collecting and man cave madness collide and reach critical mass. Here’s the beginning of the solution;

    I also picked up a couple sets of Weaver Classic 1″ scope mounts for dovetail grooves while shopping at Walmart last week. So I replaced the Gamo see-through high-mounts that were temporary on my Edge 1000x vortex .25 hybrid. I’ve 4-5 pairs of’em I’d love to trade. Anyway, the Centerpoint 3-9x40AO mildot scope is now slammed! You could maybe slide…[Read more]

    In this episode of The Airgun Tinker, I finally wrap up part 4 of the Striker 1000x barreled action to Hatsan 95 stock. It took so long since I\’m retired and didn\’t have a drill press, plug cutters and other parts and bits needed to finish the job. But we\’re almost there! Watch and see for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWT_6txEcO8&t=1s

    I have some more eBay wins I’d like to show. I just won another Daisy 1894 30-30 saddle gun built Sept/75. Bought the repro hang tag for it too. It’s the Spittin’ Image base model, all black and a very good plastic rendition of French walnut.

    Just joined your group. Looks like some interesting topics in here? I’ve done a lot of testing, restomodding and the like on my Youtube video show. It’s changed names a couple times, with Youtube and Facebook being as they are of late. It’s gone from Airgun Shooter to Airgun Fan to finally The Airgun Tinker. I can’t shoot outside around here,…[Read more]

  • Well, I have three rifles in my collection that fit this description. A 1894 model 30-30 Daisy/Sears saddle gun I named Pehaska, having gold metal parts. another Daisy 1894 model 30-30 Buffalo Bill commemorative, both 1976 American centennial rifles. And then the Crosman model# 70 Pellgun, modeled from the Winchester model 70 Ranger base…[Read more]

    Well, things have gotten busier than a one-legged man at a butt kickin’ contest around the ol’ man cave the last month or so. Won/bought 5 rifles, a 6th on the way & still bidding on a 7th. I’ll show y’all those when I get them. I think you may find numbers 6 & 7 quite interesting. I also stumbled onto a tin of H&N silver points in .25cal from…[Read more]

    Sometimes, surprises and accidents can be a good thing! Find out how on The Airgun Tinker!

    Well, the collector/seller on eBay said it was a 1965. But the REG. NO., starting with L6xxxxxx says otherwise. According to fellow GTA members that better understand Daisy\’s dating/serial number system, informed me the L6 translates as November 1976. That\’s still pretty good though.

    Here’s the final auction win of my latest exploits. This one surprised the heck out of me! I couldn’t have done better for such a low price! See what I did in this episode of The Airgun Tinker!

    Here’s an all-new show I came up with. Splinters of my mind’s eye, and new shorts strung together with clip scenes to carry the story. Like some popular movies we’re all familiar with.

    Well, I won another eBay auction. Decided I needed to get some western rifles in my collection. And even something besides Crosman. So here it is, a 1965 build I’m sure you’ll find interesting.

    VGC outside, that\’s fer sher. But it needs cleaning & polishing inside, as the puncture seal is shot. Got a seal kit for it. Gonna leave it as is after repairs and just enjoy it!

    Well, while I wait to get the right size wing nuts for the drill press vice, I had some luck elsewhere. I won another eBay auction for a Crosman 73 Saddle Pal. With only a couple scratches, it looks to be in VGC for the $79 I paid for it. Here it is after a Rem-Oil rub down next to my 760 Powermaster variant one for size;

    Well, I got my 8\” bench top drill press, 4\” DP vice too. But I need some bolts and wing nuts to hold the vice in place. Then I can finish up the 95 stock to 1000x conversion. Been sick with the flu for two weeks now. Tryin\’ o get over it and back on it.
